Oh for goodness sakes...

I feel like all I ever post anymore is "I have been meaning to post something but busy busy busy blah blah blah excuses-cakes."

Well, I am still busy busy busy blah blah blah excuses-cakes. I will post something more --- um, hopefully-- maybe-- I dunno -- tomorrow? -- this weekend?

The truth is that it's late winter, not much is going on except that SNG, e-baby and I have taken turns being sick almost nonstop for I don't know how many months (gotta love daycare germs), this morning e-baby's eyelids were swollen and puffy and now she looks like Frank McCourt, I've been CRAAAAZY busy at work, and the whole world is standing between me and getting a decent workout. That might have something to do with why I haven't blogged much lately.

But I'm in a great mood because five boxes of Girl Scout cookies were waiting at my desk when I got to the office this morning. Best of all? They've gone back to the REAL cookie names. What the heck are Samoas? Caramel DeLites, I love you so.

  1. Sorry to hear ya'll have been sick. I know that you are still doing tons of traveling which can't help because you are bound to come across foreign germs on the air planes and heck, well, throw those into the mix. Give SNG and e-baby lots of hugs from us. We miss ya'll!
On a positive note... did you say Girl Scout Cookies? Yummy! Save one for me, ok? :-)

  5. I have been looking for Girl Scouts every time I go to the grocery store, since in previous years they've always had their sales tables set up right outside the entrance. So far? I have seen nary a single green uniform. I'm ticked. I want me some Thin Mints.

  6. I must be getting old. A sweet little girl came to the door several days ago to take my cookie order, and I told her, "Sorry We Just Don't Eat Them Any More." I told her I'd support the Girl Scouts, but I didn't want any cookies. She just walked back to Mom's SUV saying Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
The sad thing is that all the cookies that get sold by all those little girls provide a HUGE percentage of the take to G.S. National and a teensy-weensy percentage to the little girls' troops.
    Grinchly,

  8. My GS Cookie "dealer" has a terrific scheme set up for people who don't want the cookies- she takes orders for cookies to send to US military personnel overseas. The last few years, all her Troop cookies have gone to the middle east, where I bet a thin mint tastes a lot better than it does sitting on your couch at home.
You're right that the $take for a troop isn't much-- my dealer has complained about that as well. She told me that some GS troops just stop seling cookies and do bake sales instead.
I like to send a few boxes overseas, but I have to have a few boxes for myself as well.
PIC, if you need ThinMints, my dealer can have them waiting for you when you come visit. Just say how many boxes!
